Note from the author: This article is an edited reprint,
*Competia Magazine, July/August 2001*, but so many people
ask me for a copy, I figured I'd give it back to you. Who
said only recent articles are good articles? Good things
last.
I am fascinated by this presentation by Gary Flake from
Microsoft about Pivot at a recent TED conference. I have
showed it and discussed it with all participants to the
"Internet as a Tool for Competitive Intleligence" course
with great interest.
Why do smart executives, with lots of experience in their
role and their industry, make the wrong decisions ? Is it
only because they do not have the correct information and
analysis? Or, perhaps, that other biases creep into their
decision making process?
It never fails: at the end of each course or presentation I
give, participants ask me what are *MY* sources of
information to keep up to date with the latest sources of
information and the tools. I have summarized those sources
in this simple file you can *download *and use at will. I
will update this file every couple of months, so make sure
you come back to get the latest version - or sign in to
automatically get an update.
